FMEP is beginning a series of briefings related to COVID-19 related financial assistance. Businesses are eligible for programs and new options are coming online every day. Today’s briefing will give you information about assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration for small businesses, private non-profits, homeowners, and renters. Loans are being approved now and payments are deferred for one year. Additionally, York County has a dedicated page for all things COVID-19 related, including a tab with business resources. Links are listed below. Keep checking back for briefings on assistance for self-employed, tipped and service workers, and industry-specific programs. The Phase 3 federal stimulus plan has been signed into law. This briefing covers information for applying for SBA assistance for small and mid-sized businesses, accessing aid for self-employed workers, independent contractors, and gig economy workers, and how to apply for unemployment benefits in South Carolina. Additional stimulus program provisions including direct payments and federal unemployment funds are also covered.
